    G\u00f6k\u00e7e <\/span> has successfully defended her MSc thesis: “Engineered Biofilm Proteins For Antibiotic Degradation and Sars-Cov-2 Capture”. Congrats G\u00f6k\u00e7e!\u00a0<\/span>She engineered biofilm backbones as modular molecular systems. She demonstrated how to use this system\u00a0to capture Sars-CoV-2 virus for sample concentrations by genetically fusing GRFT protein, and also by fusing an enzyme she managed to show how we can degrade antibiotics with help of genetically fused enzymes.\u00a0Her work is going to be part of two papers and patent applications. She’s going to continue with us as a PhD student. Good luck G\u00f6k\u00e7e!<\/span><\/p>\n
